The semi-weekly 168 Zham writes that though it has not been officially stated but it is already known that vice chairman of the National Assembly Samvel Nikoyan’s candidacy will be nominated at the elections of chairman of the parliament. The paper says yesterday it was found out that secretary of the RPA faction Eduard Sharmazanov will become vice chairman of the NA. The paper says speaking to its correspondent Sharmazanov shrugged off the information and added that the RPA has not discussed the issue yet, has not nominated his candidacy and that the nominations will be discussed this week. But the paper claims that this decision was made at the sitting of the executive board last Thursday. This week the RPA will convene sitting of the board during which President Serzh Sargsyan will inform about the mentioned decisions. The paper says at the four-day sitting of the NA first elections of the NA chairman, and then vice-chairman will take place.
The daily Haykakan Zhamanak writes that yesterday the whole day long while the head of the Board of Caucasian Muslims Allahshukur Pashazade was in Armenia the ceasefire regime was periodically violated on the line of contact. The paper says it was stated by the spokesman of the defense army of Nagorno Karabakh Republic Senor Hasratyan. The paper says the Azerbaijani side periodically opened fire in the direction of the Armenian posts and received response. The paper says even the visit of the spiritual leader of Azerbaijan did not make the parties keep the ceasefire regime. The paper says Hasratyan said on the eve the Azerbaijani side suffered one loss, the Armenian side did not suffer losses.
The daily Haykakan Zhamanak writes that deputy foreign minister of Israel stated November 28 that Israel will not recognize the Armenian Genocide. The paper says in this way he responded to the attempts on including bill recognizing the Armenian Genocide on the agenda of the Israeli Knesset. The paper says according to him, Knesset cannot recognize Genocide as it would harm the relations with Azerbaijan. “Azerbaijan is our strategic partner in the Muslim world, and we do not want to harm our relations with that country”, the paper quoted him as saying By the way, before the deterioration of relations with Turkey, Israel was saying that the recognition of the Armenian Genocide will have a negative impact on Turkish-Israeli relations.
