The daily Haykakan Zhamanak writes that the newly appointed chief of the police Vladimir Gasparyan did not participate in the cabinet sitting yesterday. The paper says according to the head of the press service of the police Ashot Aharonyan the absence of the chief of the police was agreed with the “peculiarity of yesterday’s working schedule” but he did not specify which was the peculiarity. The paper says referring to the possible staff changes Aharonyan stressed that since the appointment the new chief of the police is meeting with the heads of departments, with the leadership and during the meetings no word about staff changes has been uttered.
The daily also writes that spokesperson for the prosecutor general Sona Truzyan commenting on the stubborn news about resignation of Aghvan Hovsepyan told the paper that the latter will complete his tenure till 2013. The paper says talks are being circulating that Serzh Sargsyan is trying to persuade Aghvan Hovsepyan to resign. The paper says there are two ways to make prosecutor general to resign – either the NA must express distrust toward him, or the prosecutor general must resign on his own. The next variant, continues the daily, is waiting till the end of his authorities in 2013. The daily says this is the reason why Aghvan Hovsepyan stubbornly refuses to resign. Besides, the paper says, according to rumors, in near future three ministers from the Prosperous Armenia party – Harutyun Kushkyan (health minister), Arthur Petrosyan (sports minister) and Vardan Vardanyan (urban development minister) are going to resign. The paper says spokesman for the party Baghdasar Mheryan said the ministers though have not submitted applications.
The daily Aravot writes about resignation of first deputy of the head of President’s staff Michael Minasyan. The paper says after the resignation speaking to news.am Minasyan said he is going to help Hovik Abrahamyan in proper organization of elections. The paper says speaking to tert.am Hovik Abrahamyan, commenting on the resignation of Michael Minasyan said he is happy that Minasyan joins their works and he will be the first deputy of the head of the headquarter.
