The daily Azg writes that the visit of the President of France to Armenia Nicolas Sarkozy was historic and found wide resonance in Turkey as well. The paper says Turkish Public TV, other TV channels, news agencies as well as electronic and printed press referred to the visit. The paper says though there were not about the nature of the visit but the clear messages addressed to Turkey about the recognition of the Armenian Genocide.
Without exception Turkish newspapers noted that it is a response visit during which “President of France visited the so-called Genocide memorial”, “described what happened in 1915 as genocide and addressing to Turkey from Yerevan demanded coming into terms with what happened in 1915 and have courage to call them genocide”.
The paper says writing about it they considered their debt to remind to the Turkish reader about the forthcoming presidential elections in France, that Sarkozy is no longer popular among the people, thus his visit to Armenia and the expressions about the Genocide must be ascribed to the attempts to please the Armenian lobby in France. The paper says of course the Turkish media did not mention about the Turkish lobby and French-based Turks who do not concede French-Armenians in their number.
The daily Azg also writes that the Karabakh issue more probably reached the point when certain steps must be taken, a certain progress must be ensured in negotiations, otherwise the tiredness of representatives of international community from the Armenian-Azerbaijani “contacts” is becoming more and more obvious.
Many other conflicts remain unsolved during longer period of time but it does not mean at all that the Karabakh conflict must be continuatively protracted not accepting the existing realities, the paper continued.
The daily says the existence of the Republic of Nagorno Karabakh is a fact and sooner or later the international community will agree with it irrespective of the approach displayed by Azerbaijan, a country that for at least 20 years has nothing to do with Artsakh besides hysteric and senseless statements and opening of fire from time to time.
The paper says the regular violation of ceasefire regime caused another death of Armenian soldier 24-year old Yuri Sargsyan who was deadly wounded in head. The paper says on the next day of the incident the Azerbaijani sources again misinformed reporting that as a result of the reciprocal fire two Azerbaijani soldiers died, “the losses of Armenians were much more”. The paper says there is nothing strange in the “joy” of the Azerbaijani party. But the strange thing, continues the paper, is that the Azerbaijani delegates in the PACE are being seriously concerned that the issues of democracy are not solved in Armenia and were discussing the report on the operation of democratic institutions in Armenia.
The semi-weekly 168 Zham writes that the authorities are searching for ways to smooth the rough and scandalous assessments given by the world-famous Armenian singer Charles Aznavour in an interview to “Les Nouvelles d’Armenie” magazine. The paper says according to its information the authorities want Aznavour to give explanations on his statements on his own.
