The daily Azg writes that official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Alexander Lukashevich stated that by the end of the year no meetings of presidents are expected with the mediation of Russia. The paper says according to the Russian MFA official neither meeting of presidents nor ministers is expected. He added that currently the Minsk group co-chairs are having active negotiations over the conflict settlement.
Referring to the statement of Lukashevich that no meeting is intended by the end of the year, the paper focused on the phrase “Russia’s mediation”. Of course, the Russian official knows that “by the end of the year” is the period till which at least Europe wants to see the basic principles agreed and the accent put by Lukashevich on “by the end of the year” is agreed with it. And by saying “without mediation of Moscow”, the Russian official was saying two things: firstly Moscow, in the well-known inner political conditions has its own specified position in the NK issue and secondly, “you may take the flag, dear co-chairs”, of course, only temporary, the paper wrote.
The daily Hayots Ashkhar writes that according to the Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, the Republican party of Armenia has not discussed yet who will head the list of the party at the coming parliamentary elections. Referring to the news whether he may top the list, the PM said he has to do what the party decides. “My wishes will correspond to the decisions adopted by our party”, he said.
The paper says referring to the relations between Serzh Sargsyan and Robert Kocharyan, the prime minister said: “I think Serzh Sargsyan and Robert Kocharyan were, are and will be close friends, battle friends, they are people who passed the war, saw trials, shared the bitter fruits of these trials and people who together celebrated victories”.
The semi-weekly 168 Zham writes about several variants of return of Robert Kocharyan to the active politics. The paper says he may either head a proportional list of a party he is backed by for instance “Prosperous Armenia”. The second variant according to the paper may be heading a proportional list of an alliance for instance it may be formed by Prosperous Armenia, ARF, United Labor Party headed by Gurgen Arsenyan, who earlier stated about intention to participate in the elections. The paper says the third variant is that Kocharyan will not directly participate in elections but will head the participation of the force he is backed by. The semi-weekly writes that the outcome of the 2013 presidential elections and Kocharyan’s participation in them will be decided after the results of parliamentary elections are known.
