The editor of the daily Aravot writes that in Armenia the word wikileaks has acquired an awesome, mystical significance, is being perceived as a pure truth and even as publishing verdicts while the editor says it is only a web site, a mass medium and there are much more authoritative ones like the BBC or the Guardian. The paper says if a diplomat of a country reports something to the "head" office it does not mean that these reports reflect the whole reality. The paper says a political, state or public figure is not necessarily frank with a foreign diplomat. He/she presents the facts, he/she is interested in. Secondly, when a diplomat writes a report he/she understands or wants to understand from what the interlocutor says the things that correspond to his/her initially formed ideas. The paper says in case of reading Pennington's report presented by wikileaks it appears that Robert Kocharyan is not openly criticizing today's authorities but decided to "open his heart" in front of the American diplomat and said bad things about the current inner and foreign policy. The editor says though it does not seem senseless but here there is a "turning" of reality which mostly opens the intentions of those who publicize the materials.
The semi-weekly 168 Zham writes that the letters of diplomats published by Wikileaks have raised concern of the Armenian officials. The paper claims many of them are afraid of not the already published materials but the ones that will be newly published. The paper says the US diplomats visiting Armenia and the officials of the embassy are periodically meeting with different political figures of Armenia, parliamentarians, ministers and as far as the latter thought that their conversation will be unavailable for at least Armenian public, spoke quite openly. The semi-weekly says now they are afraid that their answers and opinions may become a reason of big inner-political disputes. The paper says in any case they are convinced that one of the goals of the publications of Wikileaks is to create a chaotic situation in the inner-political field of the country.
