The daily Azg writes the June 24 trilateral Sargsyan-Aliev-Medvedev meeting in Kazan became an event concluding the efforts directed toward the settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict until the end of the election processes in the OSCE Minsk group countries, Armenia and Azerbaijan. The paper says the information or not clarified news about preparation of the new meeting of presidents charges the situation but does not coincide with the logic of the things. In the same way the information that the presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan are going to meet September 23 within the framework of the UN General Assembly sitting, where the Armenian president is going to deliver a speech, is far from reality as well.

The paper says in any case in their last statement released July 18 the OSCE Minsk group co-chairs summed up their visit to Yerevan and Baku and emphasized that “the time has come for displaying political will”.

In its editorial the daily Aravot writes that the main problem of our education is not the restricted means and that the schools have become 12 years and double degree. The main problem, believes the editor, is that we do not know why we are giving education to our children. The extreme manifestation of it is that many of the parents give money so that their children do not learn. They do not perceive the education as a tool which will ensure the place of their children in the world: such parents, the editor continues, spend their money and time of children on senseless, incomprehensible things. The school and university corruption, so much being spoken about, is the subordinate of the stated above – if there are people ready to make senseless expenditures, there will always be those who will use it.

The semi-weekly 168 Zham writes that according to the talks after the arrest of the head of the Armenian road police service Margar Ohanyan a new wave of arrests is expected in fall. The paper says officials known for being corrupted will be either arrested or dismissed from offices. The paper says on the threshold of elections the authorities want to show both the public and the international structures that they are fighting against corruption and are dismissing and arresting those who rob the people. The paper claims that the authorities have prepared a list of officials whom they will dismiss. The paper continues among these officials are Nature Protection Minister Aram Harutyunyan, governor of Syunik Surik Khachatryan, mayor of Gyumri Vardan Ghukasyan.
