The daily Aravot writes that according to the information of the RA Special Investigation Service head of the “Road Police” service, Colonel Margar Ohanyan has been arrested August 30 for abusing his power and property misappropriation of particularly big volumes. The paper reminds that August 25 in response to the question of reporters whether Margar Ohanyan will be dismissed for misappropriation of big volumes of fuel and provision of driving permits for bribes Alik Sargsyan said: “Currently I am not considering the issue of dismissing Margar Ohanyan as first we must be able to learn whether he was aware of it or not. If the examination reveals that he was aware and there will be testimonies that he made use of this fuel, Margar Ohanyan will answer for it as a common citizen.” The paper says chief of the Nor Nork police department Mushegh Ohanyan, brother of Margar Ohanyan, filed a resignation application August 30.

Referring to the same issue the daily Haykakan Zhamanak writes that in case of being convicted Margar Ohanyan will be sentenced to 3 years of imprisonment. The paper says 7 high ranked officers have already given testimonies. It claims that the name of his brother Mushegh Ohanyan is also being circulated in the criminal case. The daily writes the latter wanted to submit a resignation application August 30 but he was not allowed to do it.

The daily Hayots Ashkhar writes that a group has opened in Facebook “Let’s Boycott “Yerevan City” market network”. The paper says the group consists of 2609 people. The paper explains that this call to boycott the markets belonging to NA parliamentarian Samvel Alexanyan came to follow the increase of prices for sugar by 20% making it 420-430 AMD. The daily explains that Samvel Alexanyan is the monopolist in Armenia’s sugar market.
