Aliyev's statement after the Kazan meeting, according to which the war has not yet finished and that the Republic of Armenia has been formed on the basis of Azerbaijani historical lands, Suren Zolyan perceives as threat, noting that if immediately after Kazan the Azerbaijani President comes forth with such a statement, then even if the negotiation process has not entered a deadlock, it is frozen.
"The Azerbaijani party is ready to negotiate only over return of liberated territories, which is unacceptable both for international community and Armenian party," Suren Zolyan said. According to him, Azerbaijan hoped that international community will support it in NK issue. Now seeing that it is not so, expresses its disappointment to mediators, pursuing two tasks – economic development and strengthening of the army. Suren Zolyan considers that here the prospect of normal development of NKR is important.
