Under the title Who is the monster now? the daily Haykakan Zhamanak writes that 2500 residents of Akhtala and nearby villages signed under the positive description of the owner of "Akhtala Mine Plant" Serob Ter-Poghosyan accused in pedophilia. The action is undertaken to smooth the attitude of court toward him. The paper says the trial is closed and journalists are deprived of the opportunity to cover it. The paper says boys and young man mainly suffered from the activity of Ter-Poghosyan, but their parents not only refuse to present a complaint against him, but glorify him and express gratitude for the financial assistance.
The daily Haykakan Zhamanak also writes that no hearings are planned on the emigration issue at the Armenian parliament yet. A number of intellectuals addressed a letter to the authorities connected with emigration. The paper says later they met with the NA chairman and spoke about the necessity of parliamentary hearings. The paper says during the meeting with the NA chairman an arrangement was reached that they would also meet with the prime minister to discuss the issue, and if their concerns were not eliminated they would again meet with the NA chairman. The paper says last Friday they met with the PM and as far as afterward they did not apply to the NA the issue of hearings closed. The paper says nevertheless professor Azat Yeghiazaryan told the daily they are going to apply to the NA in the coming week.
