First encyclopedia on the history of the Armenian film to be published

YEREVAN, JULY 22, ARMENPRESS:

The recently founded "Armenian National Film Academy" NGO plans to publish the first encyclopedia on the history of the Armenian film. Chairman of the organization, film director Davit Muradyan told Armenpress that it is a very important program as it will present the history of development of the Armenian film.

Muradyan said the academy will also have a special award that will be granted once in two years. The first prize giving ceremony will take place in 2013.

He also noted that with the creation of the NGO, for presentation of a film at the international film festival, the decision of the local cinema academy and guarantee is necessary. Before it, for presenting Armenian film at the international contest the authors were getting guarantee certificates from the Armenian government and Ministry of Culture.

The Armenian National Film Academy is cooperating with "Golden Apricot" international Yerevan film festival, Armenia's Union of Cinematographers and "Sharm" company.
