The daily Haykakan Zhamanak claims it has learnt that President Serzh Sargsyan has assigned not engage any old staff in the new Central Electoral Committee which means that Garegin Azaryan will not stay in his office and July 15 will present a resignation application. The paper says the new staff of the CEC will be known July 10.
The daily Hayots Ashkhar interviewed member of the Republican Party of Armenia Razmik Zohrabyan asking whether Levon Ter-Petrosyan has refused the proposal of the format of negotiations forwarded by the President Serzh Sargsyan. "I would not say he unanimously shrugged it off, he just presented the same demands, saying they must fight for early elections, till fall comes, we'll see what we will do. That is to say he left room for further "negotiations", but we are saying this is the format, we will not go beyond, no early elections will take place. Moreover, even if early elections are appointed the Armenian National Congress will gather the minimum of votes".
