YEREVAN, DECEMBER 13, ARMENPRESS: The ‘2011-2015 State Program for Development of RA Arms and Military Equipments’ was discussed and approved December 11 during the RA National Security Council’s session. An official from the press office of the Secretary of the RA National Security Council told Armenpress that Arthur Baghdasaryan, secretary of RA National Security Council, reported today at a press conference that the program will be put into action in accordance with the President’s decree.

‘With the adoption of the program we undertake an important step in the direction of eliminating all the possible military threats against the security of Armenia. A clear-cut middle-term and long-term vision of development of arms and military equipments is being invested with the adoption of the program. Within the framework of the program, the current arms and military equipments will be modernized in case of need. It will have a great significance for ensuring rise in efficiency of military readiness of our armed forces.

The program will also promote the development of military industry in Armenia.
