Armenian athletes participate in World Fencing Championship

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 5, ARMENPRESS: World Fencing Championship has kicked off in Paris, in which Armenian athletes participate as well. The hopes of Armenian sport loving society are tied with fencers Arkadi Muradyan and Michael Ghazaryan, who have experience of international tournaments. Alik Navasardyan is the coach of the Armenian National Fencing Team.

An official from the Armenian Fencing Federation told Armenpress that the fencers have a task to overcome the initial round of the tournament, after which every victory will be a great step forward.

According to the federation, the strained competition expected in this tournament, the presence of high-class and well-prepared athletes complicates the task of Armenian fencers; the lottery of the initial round is also of significance, though there are no weak competitors in suchlike competitions.
