The unemployment rate in Armenia in June 2010 made 7.1%

YEREVAN, AUGUST 2, ARMENPRESS. The unemployment rate in Armenia in June 2010 made 7.1% which as compared with May is the same. Armenian National Statistical Service told Armenpress that there are 1 million 187 thousand economically active people in the republic among which 1 million 103 thousand employed. The number of officially unemployed is 84 600 against 79 100 of the same span of the past year.

As of late June, 101 300 job seekers were registered in Armenia. The 5 900 of them are from 16-24 years old, 10 000 from 25-30 years old. The number of unemployed getting allowances is 16 443.

About 31 600 people looked for jobs in Yerevan, 13 200 in Lori and 11 800 in Shirak.

In January-May the average monthly salary in Armenia was 203 544 AMD.
