Artsakh parliamentary elections pass with active participation of voters

STEPANAKERT, MAY 23, ARMENPRESS: The NKR parliamentary elections launched today at 08.00 am local time and all the 273 polling stations opened at that time. As of 11.00 am 19 769 or 20,74% of eligible voters participated in the elections, head of the NKR Central Electoral Commission Sergey Nasibyan said.

The polling will last until 8 pm after which the polling stations will close and the ballots will be calculated. According to the voting list there are 95 303 eligible voters.

About 120 international observers from 15 countries – Armenia, Slovakia, Russia, Czech Republic, the USA, Canada, South Ossetia, France, Argentina, Iran, Germany, Abkhazia, Holland, Denmark and Trans Dniester are implementing the monitoring. Besides, 22 local observers are following the process. About 60 representatives of local and foreign media are covering the elections.
