Training classes for 100 officials involved in the European integration process

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 17, ARMENPRESS:A trilateral cooperation memorandum has been signed today among the Armenian Economy Ministry, Civil Service Council and British Council. The document was signed by the Economy Minister Nerses Yeritsyan, head of the Civil Service Council Manvel Badalyan and director of the Armenian office of the British Council Arevik Saribekyan. The economy minister noted that the memorandum is aimed at conduction of training classes for the 100 state officials involved in the European integration process within the framework of the “EU: Cooperation and Skills” program carried out in Armenia by the British Council with the support of the Armenian government. It will promote the development of skills of the officials and exchange of experience as well as effective implementation of “Eastern Partnership” program and facilitation of works with the EU. Yeritsyan said that the ministry, which is coordinating the works of Armenia with the EU, will provide during the implementation of the program a professional consultation. M. Badalyan said that within the framework of the cooperation two regional conferences will be organized during which the contemporary issues of Georgia and Azerbaijan will also be discussed. Visit to Brussels will be organized for the exchange of experience, during which the participants will get acquainted with the activity of the European establishments and with the implemented works. At the end of the program a training manual will be formed which will serve for the development of skills of officials of wider circles. M. Badalyan said the council will too support the conduction of the classes within the framework of the program. “We hope that within the framework of the program thanks to the working group the methods and ways of working with the EU establishments will be taught,” British ambassador to Armenia Charles Lonsdale said. According to him, the support will be highlighted in future after the implementation of the program.
