VANADZOR, MAY 16, ARMENPRESS:A 14 meter high monument, dedicated to the 80-th anniversary of the famous Karakilisa Battle is under construction in Armenia’s third largest town of Vanadzor. The monument was designed by architect Romik Julhakian. It is expected to be unveiled on May 28 when Armenia will mark The First Republic Day. The construction of the monument is funded by the government and the office of Lori governor. The latter released 19 million Drams. Edik Hovsepian, an aide to the governor, told Armenpress that a special fund was set up that has raised already 3.3 million Drams to back the monument’s construction. Vanadzor municipality will provide 6-7 million Drams. A monument-spring will be later constructed and trees planted in autumn in the museum’s territory.
