YEREVAN, APRIL 17, ARMENPRESS:Armenia has 71 private TV channels and 15 radio stations. Twenty-seven of private TV channels are cable stations-6 in Yerevan and 20 outside it while one is accessible to viewers both in Yerevan and outside it. The National TV and Radio Commission told Armenpress that H2, Armenia TV and ALM have the biggest audience. Public TV, Nor Alik (New Wave) TV stations and the Shirak Public TV are funded by the government. Armenian viewers can also watch Russian ORT, RTR, Kultura TV channels and Mir TV stations. The latter is a joint endeavor of several former Soviet republics. Eleven of private radio stations are broadcast in Yerevan, two only in regions and two others are accessible in the capital city and regions. Armenians can listen also to Radio France. Public radio is funded by the government.
