AZERI SINGER DEMANDS THAT TURKISH COLLEAGUE APOLOGIZES

BAKU, DECEMBER 14, ARMENPRESS:An Azerbaijani woman singer, Azerin, urged her government to send a letter of protest to Turkey’s government after a Turkish singer, Ms. Bullent Ersoy, called Azeris ‘a people with unknown origin’ in a televised interview and also argued that a song called “Blond Bride ‘ was an Armenian folk song. The Azerbaijani singer was quoted by ANS Press news agency as saying that Azerbaijan must take action and bar the Turkish singer from performing in Azerbaijan. Azerin said her government must demand that Bullent Ersoy apologizes publicly for a derogatory remark about Azeris.
