YEREVAN, APRIL 8, ARMENPRESS:The American “Sav-On-Monoline” company is getting ready to make serious investments in Armenia’s market of communications by buying the leading Internet provider in Armenia “Arminco” OSC. According to independent auditors, “Arminco” OSC, which provides exit to world network to 2/3 of users in Armenia and Nagorno Karabagh, possesses sub-structure of communication’s provision of total cost of $3,7 mln. During ten years of its activity “Sav-On-Line” company, apart from USA, have made investments in Belgium, Russian Federation and Ghana. Purchasing the leading Internet provider in Armenia, the company aims to make the Internet service meet the international standards by investing $7,3 mln. in the sphere during the next five years. According to the founder of “Sav-On-Line” Hrant Daghstanian, the company’s step is not aimed at getting the sole right in the market of Internet services of Armenia. “Our goal is to raise the level of Internet service provision in Armenia to a higher level”, he said. It is particularly planned to enlarge the number of Internet users, by involving the villages and small towns of the country. The company also intends to improve the quality of Internet and implement new sorts of communication services, unknown in Armenia yet. The successful realization of the program will allow to reduce the rates for Internet service by five times. The general director of “Arminco” OSC Andranik Alexanian assured that thanks to their high rating a number of other companies are interested in purchasing of the company’s shares (particularly, French “Alcatel”), but “the offer of “Sav-On-Line” is much preferable because of several factors”. After making sensitive investments, the American company is going to change the previous status of “Arminco” and also guarantees that during the next 2- 3 years the present staff and administration of the company will be kept. According to the leaders of both companies, the main peculiarity of this contract is that the Armenian company will not become an American one and the present share-holders will be given an opportunity to become share- holders of American company and everything will be done to guarantee that the profit gained during the next 5-10 years will be spent for the needs and further development of renovated “Arminco”. Both sides expressed their confidence that the stability in the country and the approaches adopted by them will make Armenia become regional leader in the sphere of high technology and communication services.
