The Football Federation of Armenia’s Executive Committee has approved the date and time of an extraordinary assembly through an online vote.

The FFA’s press service said the assembly would take place at the federation’s headquarters on 4 November this year at 12:00. The decision was approved with nine votes in favour, none against and no abstentions.

It was previously reported that, on 16 October, 29 of the 34 members of the Football Federation of Armenia, a non-governmental organisation, submitted a proposal to convene an extraordinary assembly under Article 34, paragraph 2, and Article 35 of the federation’s statutes.

The members requested the assembly to amend and supplement the FFA’s statutes.

One proposal concerns Article 31, paragraph 4(b). Under the current statutes, candidates for the Executive Committee must, among other requirements, have resided permanently in Armenia for the preceding year and have a command of Armenian.

The draft proposes removing these two requirements while retaining the conditions of Armenian citizenship and a minimum age of 25.

Another proposed amendment concerns Article 38, paragraph 3. The current statutes stipulate that, if a person serves in a position for less than the prescribed four-year term, that period counts as one full term, regardless of its actual duration.

The draft proposes that service of less than two years should not count as a full term, while service of two years or more should count as one full term.

Under the current rule, any period of service counts as a full term, even if the person has served only a small fraction of the four-year term.
