Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Israeli President Isaac Herzog discussed regional developments during a meeting in Baku, according to a statement from the Azerbaijani president’s press service.
The two leaders exchanged views on bilateral relations and issues on the international and regional agenda.
Herzog praised the work carried out during Azerbaijan’s chairmanship of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) to expand practical cooperation and strengthen confidence-building measures.
Aliyev said Azerbaijan, as the chairing country, continued to work towards strengthening mutual trust and developing practical cooperation between the organisation’s member states.
The CICA summit will take place in Baku on 15 October.
