Commission holds first meeting on preventing plague from entering Armenia from Russia; situation under control

An interdepartmental advisory commission established by a decision of Armenia’s prime minister has held its first meeting, discussing measures to prevent plague from entering Armenia from Russia’s Irkutsk region and spreading in the country.
Speaking to Armenpress, Health Minister’s Press Secretary Mariam Tsatryan said the ministry was in constant contact with Rospotrebnadzor and partners at the World Health Organization.
“According to the information received, the situation is under control. Information on ongoing updates will be provided appropriately. Relevant measures to prevent the spread of disease are being taken as necessary. We continue to monitor updated information and developments,” Tsatryan said.
