The top executive of Russian Railways will visit Armenia next week to discuss issues related to the restoration of railway sections in Armenia that are currently not in operation, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has said.

“Regarding the railway, at the previous meeting we reached an agreement within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). As a result of that agreement, the president of Russian Railways will arrive in Armenia next week. We will have a working discussion and will also draw certain conclusions based on the results of that working discussion. I cannot predict what will happen after the meeting,” Pashinyan said at a press briefing.

The Prime Minister also addressed a statement by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk that an offer made to Yerevan to restore the Yeraskh section and the Gyumri-Kars section remains in effect.

“I know that a Kazakh company has also expressed interest in restoring the Akhurik and Yeraskh sections. There are various issues; we will discuss them,” the Prime Minister said.
