Serviceman killed in blast, probe underway

An Armenian serviceman was killed in an explosion on September 24, the circumstances of which have not yet been established, the Ministry of Defense said.

The ministry did not disclose the serviceman’s identity, identifying him only by the initials D. K. and saying that he was a contract servicemember.

The ministry said the serviceman’s next of kin had been notified.

An investigation is underway to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident.
