Armenian women’s chess team defeats Azerbaijan

The Armenian women’s chess team has defeated Azerbaijan in the latest round of the Chess Olympiad.

In the seventh round of the 46th Chess Olympiad, Armenia beat Azerbaijan 2.5-1.5. International Master Lilit Mkrtchian and Grandmaster Elina Danielian won their games.

Woman Grandmaster Mariam Mkrtchyan’s game ended in a draw.

After seven rounds, the Armenian women’s team has 12 team points out of a possible 14, with two points awarded for a win, one for a draw and none for a defeat.
