Armenia’s chess teams to face US, Azerbaijan in seventh round of FIDE Olympiad

Armenia’s men’s and women’s national chess teams will face the United States and Azerbaijan, respectively, in the seventh round of the 46th FIDE Chess Olympiad underway in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.

After six rounds, Armenia’s women’s team is seventh in the standings, while the men’s team is in third place.

India are the defending champions.

In 2024, FIDE recognized Armenia’s men’s chess team as the Team of the Century. The team has won the Chess Olympiad three times.
