EAEU to explore free trade agreements with Jordan, South Africa and Zimbabwe

The Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) is discussing the prospects of concluding free trade agreements with Jordan, South Africa and Zimbabwe, Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Bakytzhan Sagintayev has said, TASS news agency reported.

“Negotiations with India have intensified, a decision has been made to start negotiations with Tunisia, and work is underway on establishing a free trade regime with Pakistan. The prospects of concluding agreements with Jordan, South Africa and Zimbabwe, as well as a number of other partners, are being studied. This geography of international relations reflects our approach to the Union’s place in the global economy, which is undergoing profound transformation,” he said at a roundtable discussion in Beijing on cooperation between the EAEU and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

The EAEU comprises Armenia, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
