The Armenian government has approved an agreement on military-technical cooperation between Armenia and Poland.
The government approved the agreement during its September 11 meeting.
The issue was included on the agenda of items not requiring discussion.
The agreement will be sent to the Constitutional Court, after which, if the Constitutional Court concludes that it does not contradict the Constitution, it will be sent to the National Assembly for ratification.
The justification for the draft states that the Republic of Armenia attaches great importance to the further expansion and deepening of high-level relations with the Republic of Poland based on mutual trust, which will make it possible in the future to achieve tangible results in the field of military cooperation and include promising new areas.
“The regular contacts between the highest political leadership of the two states and mutually beneficial multifaceted cooperation are evidence not only of the warm relations between the two countries but also of a shared vision for the future.
The Agreement on Military-Technical Cooperation between the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Armenia and the Minister of National Defence of the Republic of Poland was signed in Warsaw on February 26, 2026. Ratification of the agreement will complement the cooperation agenda, creating a basis for close cooperation between the two defence ministries, as well as for advancing the bilateral cooperation agenda.
The purpose of the agreement is to establish the basic principles and procedures for cooperation between the parties in the military-technical field, under which the parties will cooperate on the basis of the principles of equality, mutual respect and mutual benefit.
The agreement sets out the areas and forms of military-technical cooperation, provisions concerning the protection of classified information, procedures for sales to third countries, as well as the activities of the commission to be established.
The agreement also sets out procedures for resolving disputes arising from its interpretation and application, as well as the procedures for the agreement’s entry into force and termination.
The ratification of the agreement is aimed at further strengthening the existing friendly relations on a lasting and long-term basis and deepening cooperation by expanding military-technical cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
The ratification of the agreement fully corresponds to the strategic interests of the Republic of Armenia, and its implementation provides an opportunity to expand international cooperation.
In terms of both its structure and content, the agreement complies with the norms and principles of internationally recognised treaty law and is aimed at the practical implementation of the universally binding principle of cooperation among states under general international law,” the agreement states.
