The head of the Middle East and Africa Department of Armenia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Levon Petrosyan, was received in Erbil on September 10 by Safeen Dizayee, Minister and Head of the Department of Foreign Relations of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
According to a ministry readout, the two officials discussed prospects for developing trade and economic ties with the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, promoting exports from Armenia to Iraq, including the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, as well as expanding contacts and deepening cooperation in the fields of culture, tourism, technology, and education.
As part of his visit to Erbil, Levon Petrosyan also held meetings with Peshawa Muhammad, adviser to the Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq on foreign affairs and head of the Diplomatic Relations Division of the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office; Bayan Sami Abdul Rahman, senior adviser to the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq on foreign affairs; and Sarwar Kamal Hawari, Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
During the meetings, issues related to expanding the trade and economic agenda and further deepening cooperation were discussed.
