Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia Zhanna Andreasyan received Małgorzata Omilanowska, Director of the Royal Castle in Warsaw, a state museum and a national historical monument in the capital of Poland.
Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Alfred Kocharyan and Director of the History Museum of Armenia Davit Poghosyan were present at the meeting.
The Minister welcomed the visit of the delegation of the Royal Castle in Warsaw to Armenia, thanking them for showing interest in cooperation in the field of culture.
The ministry said in a press release that the possibility of organizing a joint exhibition of carpets through the joint efforts of Armenia and Poland was at the center of the meeting, with the aim of highlighting the commonalities in the cultural heritage, historical ties, and cultural dialogue of Armenia and Poland.
Andreasyan presented plans to have a Carpet Museum in Armenia, which will open new prospects for promoting the heritage of the two countries. In this context, the possibility of a joint exhibition of carpets was discussed.
The meeting also addressed the interconnection between culture and education. Zhanna Andreasyan emphasized that museums and monuments are viewed as educational environments in Armenia’s education system, and numerous programs are being implemented in this direction to also engage schoolchildren with cultural life.
Małgorzata Omilanowska thanked the Minister for the reception, expressing hope that it would contribute to putting cultural dialogue into practice. She said that she had already managed to visit a number of historical sites in Armenia, which are extremely impressive in terms of their universal value.
The sides discussed possibilities for creating platforms for sustainable cooperation between cultural institutions of Armenia and Poland.
