The State Revenue Committee (SRC) of Armenia has reminded businesses that a special procedure for the mutual recognition of product marking applies to certain groups of goods imported into Armenia and exported from Armenia to Russia.

The State Revenue Committee said this in a statement.

“In particular, within the framework of the digital marking system for goods using means of identification, certain groups of goods imported into Armenia from Russia do not require additional marking in Armenia. Similarly, in the case of exports, if goods have been marked in Armenia using codes provided by the Automated Information System for Product Marking (ADAT) of E-Mark LLC, the national operator responsible for implementing the marking system, there is no need for the goods to be marked again when exported to Russia.

Currently, mutual recognition already applies to the following groups of goods: dairy products; juices and non-alcoholic beverages; seafood; canned foods; animal feed products; packaged water; pasta; other prepared foods and vinegar; animal and vegetable fats and oils; lubricants and technical fluids.

To ensure the lawful circulation of imported goods in Armenia, the importing entity is required to accept in the ADAT system the relevant document sent by the exporter containing the marking codes for those goods.

To export goods from Armenia under the mutual recognition procedure, the exporting entity is required to create the relevant export document in the ADAT system, attaching the codes of the exported goods marked using means of identification.

The application of mutual recognition creates more favourable conditions for businesses, ranging from time savings and bilateral transparency in the circulation of goods to the simplification of import and export procedures.

Digital marking involves placing a special DataMatrix code on goods subject to marking by the importing or manufacturing company. To carry out digital marking of goods, the importing or manufacturing company must register in the national operator’s ADAT system, obtain the relevant DataMatrix codes and affix or print them on the goods before they are distributed or sold,” the statement said.
