Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan met with President of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic Tomio Okamura and the leadership of the Chamber of Deputies as part of his official visit to the Czech Republic.
The President’s Office said in a press release that Tomio Okamura welcomed Vahagn Khachaturyan and thanked him for the official visit and the opportunity to meet. He emphasized that the official visit of the President of Armenia will give new impetus to the further development of relations and friendly ties between the two countries.
President Vahagn Khachaturyan thanked him for the warm welcome and words of appreciation, emphasizing that relations based on friendship and mutual respect have been established between Armenia and the Czech Republic, with parliamentary cooperation also playing an important role in their development.
During the meeting, the further development of parliamentary diplomacy and the promotion of active contacts and mutual visits between the parliaments of the two countries were emphasized. The need to expand cooperation within international parliamentary organizations, as well as within the framework of the European Union, was also highlighted.
The sides discussed possibilities for expanding the agenda of bilateral cooperation between Armenia and the Czech Republic. In this context, the importance of deepening cooperation in the fields of economy, tourism, science, sports and other areas of mutual interest was emphasized.
The President of Armenia and the President of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic also touched upon the importance of strengthening and protecting democratic institutions, emphasizing the need for continued cooperation in promoting democratic values, the rule of law and the protection of human rights.
At the meeting, the sides reaffirmed their readiness to further deepen friendly relations between Armenia and the Czech Republic and to develop new areas of cooperation.
