Armenian Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan visited Ararat Food Combine LLC on August 31 to monitor the procurement process on site, the Armenian Economy Ministry said, noting that Deputy Economy Minister Arman Khojoyan also took part in the visit.
According to the ministry, during the current season the company is purchasing peaches at 175 drams per kilogramme. Around 2,500 tonnes of peaches have already been purchased, while the company plans to purchase 6,500-7,000 tonnes during the year.
The company plans to produce around 7 million units of canned food and 5-7 million units of natural juice annually.
The company has benefited from a state support programme aimed at ensuring the smooth operation of the procurement process. In addition to peaches, the company also purchases and processes aubergines, tomatoes, apples, plums and other produce.
The company exports its products to a number of countries, including Russia, the United States, Germany, the Baltic states, Romania, Israel and Kazakhstan. Since its establishment, around $25 million has been invested in the company, which employs up to 100 people.
Ararat Food Combine LLC was established in 2011 and is one of the leading companies in the juice and canned food production sector. Its products are marketed under the Ararat, Armenium, Ararat Premium, Ararat Tea and Noah’s Ark brands.
