Iran supports Lebanon’s territorial integrity – Abbas Araghchi

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi reaffirmed Tehran’s unwavering support for the Lebanese people, the country’s territorial integrity and sovereignty during a meeting in Tehran with Sheikh Ali al-Khatib, Vice President of Lebanon’s Supreme Islamic Shia Council, Mehr reported, providing details of the meeting.

A delegation headed by Sheikh Ali al-Khatib, Vice President of Lebanon’s Supreme Islamic Shia Council, arrived in Tehran to participate in the 40th Islamic Unity Conference.

Al-Khatib briefed Araghchi on the latest situation in Lebanon and Israel’s continuing aggression against the country, and praised Iran’s principled positions in support of the Lebanese people and their sovereignty.

Araghchi thanked al-Khatib for participating in the conference and stressed Iran’s particular emphasis on the need to end the war against Lebanon and for Israeli forces to withdraw from occupied Lebanese territories.
