Canada to impose retaliatory tariffs on United States from September 8

Canadian authorities will impose tariffs of 15%, 25% and 50% on a range of goods imported from the United States from September 8, Interfax reported, citing a statement from Canada’s Department of Finance.

According to the statement, the retaliatory tariffs will apply to US imports worth a total of around $20 billion. The measures cover cars and motorcycles, household appliances, agricultural equipment, electrical equipment, paper and cardboard.

At the same time, tariffs on steel, aluminium and products made from them will rise from 25% to 50%.
