Armenia, Azerbaijan discuss electricity trade and energy infrastructure interconnection

A working meeting between representatives of Armenia’s Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure and the Armenian company “Electricity System Operator,” and representatives of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Energy and Azerbaijan’s AzerEnergy was held in Lachin, Azerbaijan, on August 25, 2026.

According to the Armenian ministry's press release, during the meeting, the sides discussed possibilities for the import and export of electricity between the two countries, as well as possible options for interconnecting the energy infrastructure of the two states at the state border.
