Hayden Panettiere, actress in ‘Heroes’ and ‘Nashville,’ dies at 36

American actress Hayden Panettiere has died, CNN reported citing her representative.

She was 36 years old.

“It is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of our beloved Hayden. She was an incredible light and a force of nature who brought immeasurable love and joy to all who knew her — and to the millions who watched her onscreen,” her father, Skip Panettiere, said in a statement shared by her representative with CNN.

The cause of death is unknown.

Panettiere is survived by her daughter Kaya with her former partner, Ukrainian boxer Wladimir Klitschko.

ABC was the first to report the news.

Panettiere was found unresponsive and later pronounced dead at a Greenville, South Carolina, apartment complex Sunday afternoon, CNN affiliate WHNS reported citing Greenville Police Department.

Panettiere was known for her role in the late-aughts television series “Heroes,” in which she played self-healing cheerleader Claire Bennet, and “Nashville,” in which she played young country music star Juliette Barnes. She was featured in 2011’s “Scream 4” as Kirby Reed, returning to the horror franchise years later in the sixth installment. She also had notable roles in the films “I Love You Beth Cooper,” “Remember the Titans,” and “Bring It On: All or Nothing,” a sequel in the anthology series of competitive cheerleading.

She was also one of the youngest people ever nominated for a Grammy Award for voicing Princess Dot in the 1998 movie “A Bug’s Life.”
