Mojtaba Khamenei vows to avenge his father’s killing

Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has vowed to avenge the killing of his father, Iran’s late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

Anadolu Agency reported the statement, citing a message by Mojtaba Khamenei published on social media following Ali Khamenei’s funeral and burial.

In the message, Mojtaba Khamenei stressed that he would remain committed to the political course charted by his father.

“Revenge is the demand of our nation, and it will certainly be carried out,” Mojtaba Khamenei said.

The Iranian supreme leader added that, in his view, any retaliatory action would not depend on his personal presence or that of other leaders.

Mojtaba Khamenei became Iran’s supreme leader following the death of his father, Ali Khamenei.

Ali Khamenei was killed in joint U.S. and Israeli strikes.
