Authorities on Tuesday announced several arrests in an ongoing investigation into alleged electoral bribery involving the Strong Armenia party.
The Anti-Corruption Committee said in a press release that a group of residents in Ararat Province demanded that Strong Armenia party representatives in the Masis community provide them with bribes in exchange for votes in the June 7 elections, as well as recruit others.
The law enforcement agency released audio recordings obtained through surveillance, capturing the suspects discussing the alleged scheme.
It did not specify how many people had been taken into custody.
