Rubio says U.S. and Armenia move to advance Trump–Pashinyan vision for the future

The United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio has hailed the Armenian government’s efforts toward regional peace as a “courageous path”.

“I'm really pleased to be here today to continue to further advance President Trump's and Prime Minister [Pashinyan’s] vision for the future,” Rubio said alongside Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan at a joint press event in Yerevan following the signing of cooperation agreements.

“It is a courageous path, a courageous path toward peace in the South Caucasus, solidified in Washington on the 8th of August last year. And so I was honored to join the Foreign Minister here today to initial this bilateral agreement on the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity, also known as TRIPP. This agreement marks the biggest step to date in making this historic route a reality, in advancing peace, and in increasing prosperity in Armenia and, frankly, in the region,” he added.

Armenia and the United States initialed a framework agreement on strategic cooperation concerning the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) on Tuesday.
