Armenia has six representatives in FIDE rankings

Armenia has six grandmasters in the International Chess Federation’s (FIDE) May rankings.

In the men’s standings, Shant Sargsyan is ranked 74th, Hayk Martirosyan 89th, and Aram Hakobyan 92nd. The list is topped by Magnus Carlsen.

In the women’s rankings, Armenia is represented by Elina Danielian (51st), Lilit Mkrtchian (78th), and Mariam Mkrtchian (79th), while Hou Yifan leads the table.

Former leader of Armenia’s men’s national team Levon Aronian, now competing under the United States flag, is ranked 23rd.
