Armenia has sent humanitarian aid to Iran, Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said on Monday.
“I want to inform you that the Republic of Armenia has sent humanitarian aid to the Islamic Republic of Iran, mainly in the form of medicines. It could not have been done otherwise,” Mirzoyan said at the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Affairs, responding to a question from opposition Armenia Alliance MP Kristine Vardanyan.
Mirzoyan also noted that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs did not see the need to publicly 'trumpet' this, but since the question has been raised, he deemed it necessary to provide the information.
Earlier last week, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said that Armenia is ready to provide humanitarian assistance to neighboring Iran if the need arises.
