Iran says it targeted 'separatist groups' who intended to enter through western borders

Iran's intelligence ministry said that it targeted posts of "separatist groups" who intended to enter ‌through western borders, adding that ‌they sustained heavy losses.

Iranian Kurdish militias have consulted with the US in recent days about ‌whether, and how, to attack Iran's security forces ‌in the western part of the country, France 24 reported citing three sources with knowledge of the matter.

The Iranian ministry statement, which was carried by state media, said Iranian forces are cooperating with "noble Kurds" to thwart the "Israeli-American" plan to attack Iranian soil.

The U.S. and Israel launched what they described as a pre-emptive strike against Iran on February 28, claiming that Tehran was developing a nuclear weapon and posing a threat—an allegation Iran has denied. In response, Iran launched counterattacks, firing missiles and drones at Israel, as well as at U.S. assets and other targets across the Middle East.
