Armenian, Georgian Foreign Ministers discuss Middle East

Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, who is in Georgia as part of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s delegation, met with Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili in Sighnaghi. 

The foreign ministers discussed “agenda issues related to bilateral cooperation between Armenia and Georgia, emphasizing that the preparation for and successful holding of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation meeting represents another expression of dynamic interaction between the two countries,” the foreign ministry said in a readout.

Ararat Mirzoyan and Maka Botchorishvili also addressed the situation in the Middle East.

“The ministers highlighted the importance of efforts to reduce tensions and resolve issues peacefully, emphasizing the advantages that exist in conditions of peace. The foreign ministers of Armenia and Georgia also stressed the importance of cooperating through their countries’ resident embassies in the Middle East to provide assistance where needed to citizens on the ground. The meeting further included exchanges of views on regional cooperation, as well as opportunities for collaboration within multilateral formats,” the foreign ministry added.

The 15th session of the Armenia-Georgia Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation kicked off on Wednesday.
