Armenian citizens currently in Iran who wish to leave the country can do so through the Armenia-Iran land border, Iran’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Armenia, Khalil Shirgholami, said.

Speaking at a press conference in Yerevan on Monday, the ambassador said the land border between Armenia and Iran is operating normally.

According to Shirgholami, bilateral land communication remains fully functional, allowing Armenian citizens to cross the border by land transport and reach Armenia.

He added that all of Iran’s land borders have been brought to appropriate technical readiness. The Ambassador noted that Iranian embassies abroad have been instructed to take the necessary steps to evacuate their citizens.
