Papikyan, Iranian President discuss defense cooperation

Armenian Defense Minister Suren Papikyan met with President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian, Papikyan said in a post on his Facebook page.
Papikyan noted that he conveyed the warm greetings of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to the Iranian President.
During the meeting, the parties emphasized the importance of the continued development of high-level relations between Armenia and Iran, as well as efforts aimed at strengthening peace and stability in the region.
The sides discussed issues related to Armenia–Iran cooperation, including cooperation in the defense sector.
Papikyan also stressed the need to resolve issues surrounding Iran through diplomatic channels. The parties exchanged views on matters related to regional and international security, the minister added.
