Greek businessmen express interest in expanding cooperation with Armenia in key sectors

Greek businessmen have expressed interest in deepening cooperation with Armenia in construction, high technologies, infrastructure, tourism and other sectors, Armenia’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Greece, Tigran Mkrtchyan, told reporters in Athens.

According to the Armenpress correspondent, the ambassador said, referring  to a meeting with Greek business representatives held within the framework of the state visit of the President of Armenia to Greece, highlighting the main issues discussed.

Mkrtchyan said the state visit was comprehensive, covering the full scope of bilateral relations, including high-level political dialogue aimed at elevating ties to a strategic level, parliamentary diplomacy, meetings with business representatives, community engagement and cultural cooperation.

He emphasized that the History Museum of Armenia and the Acropolis Museum are set to sign a memorandum of cooperation.

The ambassador underlined the importance of advancing the economic agenda, taking into account ongoing reforms and developments in Armenia and the South Caucasus, as well as the processes aimed at de-blockade and peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

He noted that there is considerable interest in the South Caucasus region, particularly in light of the potential opportunities arising from regional de-blockade.

Mkrtchyan added that cooperation in tourism was also high on the agenda, pointing to significant growth in the sector in recent years, facilitated by direct flights between the two countries. He also highlighted mutual interest in expanding cooperation in agriculture.
