“We reaffirm Greece’s support for Armenia,” says Nikitas Kaklamanis

Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan met with the Speaker of the Parliament of Greece, Nikitas Kaklamanis, during his state visit to Greece.

Speaker Kaklamanis, welcoming the Armenian President, said that Greece highly values its cooperation with Armenia.

“Today, we are pleased to welcome the President of the Republic of Armenia to the Hellenic Parliament. This is a very good opportunity to discuss bilateral cooperation. We reaffirm Greece’s support for Armenia. All fair demands that Armenia presents will receive Greece’s backing,” said the Speaker of the Hellenic Parliament.

The Speaker also highlighted the role of the Armenian community in developing and strengthening cooperation between the two countries.

Expressing gratitude for the warm reception, the President of Armenia noted that relations between Armenia and Greece have historically been of great importance.

According to the President, since Armenia’s independence, those relations have developed quite dynamically.

“Our bilateral relations are particularly significant at this time, when Armenia is seeking to establish peace in the region. I would like to thank the Greek authorities for the support extended to Armenia, especially during difficult times for our country,” said the Armenian President.

Vahagn Khachaturyan emphasized that his meeting with the Speaker of the Hellenic Parliament has a comprehensive agenda.
