US involvement in ceasefire monitoring agreed upon at Geneva talks -Zelensky

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has said that during the Ukraine-US-Russia negotiations in Geneva, the parties have agreed that monitoring of compliance with a ceasefire would be carried out with the participation of the United States.

"Our negotiating team has briefed me on the two-day talks. As regards their substance, you know there are two areas – military and political. I want to say that all three sides were constructive on the military component, at least from the briefing I've just received," Ukrainska Pravda quoted Zelensky as saying.

Zelenskyy said, "The military knows how to monitor a ceasefire and bring the war to an end if there is political will."

"They have, in principle, agreed on almost everything there. Monitoring will definitely involve the American side. I consider this a constructive signal," he noted.
